Mrs. Adleeta J. McGaw, 54, 422 C, N.W., Miami elementary teacher, died at 4:30 a.m. Thursday [May 7, 1970] in St. John's Medical Center in Joplin.
Mrs. McGaw was a fourth grade teacher at the Washington School where she taught reading and music.
Born Dec. 30, 1915 in Wagoner, Oklahoma, she moved to Miami at an early age. A teacher in the Miami schools for a number of years, Mrs. McGaw also taught school in Texas from 1947 until 1965, when she returned to Miami. She was a member of the All Saints Episcopal Church. Her husband, Robert P. McGaw, was killed in a plane crash near Miami, Aug. 16, 1969.
There are no immediate survivors.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today [Friday, May 8, 1970] at the All Saints Episcopal Church with the Rev. Phillip Crow of Norman, Okla., and the Rev. W. K. Herod, local pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the GAR Cemetery under direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Miami.
Pallbearers will be Don Grayson, Floyd Hartman, Dr. C. L. Pyne, Homer Willim, Alex Hecksher and Jack Mann.
Memorial contributions may be made to the All Saints Episcopal Church.
Relatives will be at the McGaw home 322 C, N. W.
