Bessie Huffman

BUSHNELL ---- Bessie C. Huffman, 77, of 355 Washington St., Bushnell, died at 12:15 p.m. Friday at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.
She was born June 3, 1909, near Cuba, the daughter of Curtis and Effie Mae (Wheeler) Buffum. She married Clyde H. Huffman Nov. 14, 1927 in Keokuk, Iowa. He survives.
Other survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Doloris Gress of Mesquite, N.M.; one son, Sam Huffman of Good Hope; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Carroll Buffum of Canton and Ernest Buffum of LaGernia, Texas; and one sister, Marjorie Jones of Canton.
She was preceded in death by one son, Robert, three brothers and two sisters.
She retired from a farm in the Walnut Grove area and moved to Bushnell in 1965. She was a member of Bushnell Tops Club for 21 years, Four Square Household Science Club, and was selected as Bushnell Mother of the Year in 1965. She was also a member of Bushnell Methodist Church.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Martin-Hollis Funeral Home, Bushnell.
Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Sunday until time of services Monday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Bushnell Cemetery.
