The Feb. 7, 1896 edition of the Clarksfied Bee. a bi-weekly paper, reported Mary had been judged insane and taken to Norwalk Infirmiry. This was about three years after her husband Lewis died. She recovered, as later, in the 1910 census, she was living with her son Perry and granddaughter Ruby, and still living with Perry in the 1920 census.
Mary is buried on the plot with Lewis and his second wife Emily.
