D. Forrest Sturms Sr.
age 70 of East Rochester died Sunday, Jan. 3, in Alliance Community Hospital. He was born June 22, 1939 in St.
George, W. Va. to the late Aubrey and Elsie (Phillips) Sturms. He retired from TRW as a foreman after 20 years of
service and was owner of Forrest Sturms Trucking for 27 years. He is a member of the New Franklin United Methodist
Church where he is Chairman of the Pastor Parish Committee.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Carolyn (Boord) Sturms whom he married June 27, 1959; a daughter, Cheryl
Firestone of Minerva; a son, Donald (Vickie) Sturms, Jr. of Kensington; five sisters, Madeline of Baltimore, Helen "Peg"
Harsh of Louisville, Dorcas of Maryland, Geraldine (Bruce) Bruger of Homeworth, Eleanor (Harry) of Baltimore; three
brothers, Eugene (Sue) of Baltimore. Billy (Carol) of E. Canton, Rodney (Mavis) of Beloit; three granddaughters,
Jennifer (Keith) Mills of Leetonia, Staci (Jeremy) Howell of E. Rochester, Tiffani Firestone of Alliance; three greatgranddaughters.He is preceded in death by two sisters, Jessie and Gail; five brothers, Willard, Aubrey, Dale, Roger,
and Teddy.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva with Rev. William
Wright officiating. Burial will be in Moultrie Chapel Cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday evening 5-8 p.m. at the
funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
