The Rev. John E. Westermeyer officiated at the services. Burial was in the Fair Haven cemetery.
Mr. Wetzel, a retired farmer, had lived most of his life in Tippecanoe county on Lafayette rural route 6. He was born in Clinton county on March 12, 1875, the son of James M. and Mary (Paul) Wetzel. On Nov. 7, 1901, he and the former Lillie M. Yundt were married. She died Feb. 23, 1951.
Mr. Wetzel was a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ at Mulberry.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Harvey E. Harsh of Danville, Ill.; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
