Frank August Carlson Services October 27
Funeral services for Frank, August' Carlson, 91, long time rural Wakefield farmer, were held at the Concordia Lutheran Church at Concord on October 27, 1964.
The Rev. Robert Johnson officiated under the direction, of the Bressler Funeral Home. Mr. and Mrs. Verdel Erwin sang "Children of the Heavenly Father" and "Beyond the' Sunset", accompanied by Mrs. Winton Wallin, organist.
Mr. Carlson was born July 29, 1873 in Smoland,, Sweden, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Peterson. He came to America at the age of 16 years. He had lived some 70 years in the Concord community. On March 22, 1905 he was united in marriage to Esther Clara Johnson at the Alfred Johnson home. To this union- five children were born. After a two week illness resulting from a fall, he died at the Wakefield Hospital on Oct. 24, 1964.
Survivors include four daughters; Mrs. Arthur Anderson, Wayne, Hazel, Minnie and Opal of Wakefield; a son, Vern of Wakefield; a sister, Mrs. Emilia Norberg of Minneapolis; 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Pallbearers were Melvin Magnuson, Virgil Pearson, Velmer Anderson, Glen Magnuson, Dale Pearson and Merdith Johnson. Interment was in the Concord Cemetery.
