Richard "Dick" Sydney Creek was born April 1, 1925 on the family homestead south of Terry, to Oscar Richard and Lemma Cornelia Basham Creek. He attended country schools and graduated from high school via correspondence courses.He spent his whole life on the land whee he was born, farming and raising cattle. He enjoyed helping neighbors and friends.Besides ranching, he worked as a fieldman for the Prairie County Farm Service Agency 20 years, retiring in January, 1996, continuing on the farm until his death.He was a member of the Terry Community Presbyterian Church where he had served on numerous boards. He was also a volunteer at the Prairie County Museum, sharing his knowledge of area history.Mr. Creek, 78, will be cremated and his ashes scattered on the farm and ranch where he lived his life south of Terry. Survivors include three sisters, Zenda (Marvin) Anderson, Whitehall, Naida Huber, Torrance CA, and Bernice (Harold) Sasser, Eugene OR; and nieces and nephews.--condensed from The Terry Tribune 6-4-2003 p. 4-
