Bernice Sasser

Bernice Lenore Sasser of Eugene died Dec. 11 of age-related causes. She was 88.

Sasser was born July 28, 1916, in Terry , Mont., to Richard and Lemma Basham Creek. She married Arthur "Harold" Sasser on Nov. 12, 1948 in Eugene.

She was educated in Terry. She had worked in a cannery, as a waitress in a bus depot and in sales for Avon and J.C. Penney. She enjoyed sewing, gardening and cooking. She belonged to the Oregon State University Extension Service.

Survivors include her husband; two sisters, Naida Huber of Los Angeles and Zenda Anderson of Whitehall, Mont.; and two grandchildren. A son, Verne, died in 1987.

No service is planned. Musgrove Family Mortuary of Eugene is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the Eugene Mission.
