Obituary: "Sallie Caroline Pitts was born July 11, 1869 at Fayetteville, Tennessee. She was converted at the age of 12 years and united with the Breech Grove Methodist church of that place. In 1883 she was married to John J. Cole and later moved to Oklahoma in 1899. Mr. Cole preceded her in death October 5, 1903. To this union eight children were born, two of which died to infancy. The others are: Beulah Mae Clayton, who departed this life April, 1924 at the age of 23 years; Mrs. W. B. Clayton, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Mrs. C. E. Austin, Lawton, Okla.; Mrs. Maggie Sayler, Oklahoma City, Okla. On November 11, 1906, she was united in marriage to Mr. John Leitner of Independence, Oklahoma. He departed this life July 5, 1927. To this union twin daughters were born, Kathleen and Irene. Kathleen preceding her in death, July 5, 1923. She leaves to mourn her loss, one sister, Mrs. W. T. Daves of Indianapolis, Oklahoma. Five children, thirteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren, other relatives and many friends. "Oh Mother Dear. we'll miss you here, but we know you're rejoicing, We're willing to wait, for we know you'll be at the gate when Our Saviour calls us."
