Mrs. Laurence E. Jacobsen died at her home in Lexington at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, October 7. She had been declining in health for several months.
Mrs. Nannie Smith Jacobsen was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Spencer Spear Smith and was born near Selma near Lexington, July 21, 1872, where she resided during her early childhood. Later the family moved to Nebraska. On January 20, 1892, she was married to Laurence Erich Jacobsen. They became the parents of four sons, Lawrence Earl of Beatrice, Nebraska, Ivan Spencer of Monee, Illinois, Ralph Asmus of Northfield, Minnesota, and Neil Smith of Redlands, California. Surviving are the husband and sons, one sister, Miss Winnie Smith of Albion, Nebraska, eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Mr. and Mrs. Jacobsen moved to Lexington in 1937 and this city has since been their home.
Mrs. Jacobsen became a Christian during her youth and united with the Methodist church.
Funeral services will be held at the Methodist church at 2 p.m. Friday, conducted by the Reverend Walter H. Teesdale. Burial will be in the Lexington Cemetery.
