Prisoner List dated Lynchburg, Virginia 13 April 1865. (Have no idea how long he was held as Prisoner of War.

Received the Roll of Honor. The Roll of Honor was awarded by the Office of the Adjunct General of State of North Carolina; ratied 20 December 1862. ms 143147.

This is my mothers grandfather (Laura Ann Ashley's father) and it is so ironic that my mothers grandfather (Frank Miles Cardwell's father) was also with the same company (Company K, 53rd North Carolina Infantry). They both were captured and were Prisoners of War and both received the Roll of Honor.

The photo of the marriage certificate is for him and his first wife Caroline OWENS.
