KERMIT L. UMBENHOWER DIES FRIDAY
Kermit L. Umbenhower, 66, of Des Moines, a former Chariton resident, died unexpectedly at his home in Des Moines Friday afternoon.
He was a furniture salesman for Gray's Furniture Store for 22 years, retiring in 1975. He was a 50-years member of the musicians union #75.
He is survived by his wife, Marie; his mother, Marie Myers and his step-father, Cecil Myers; and a sister, Nada Umbenhower, all of Des Moines; a brother, Quentin Umbenhower of Coral Gables, Florida; and a step-mother, Mrs. Jess Umbenhower of Chariton.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. today at the Fielding Funeral Home with the Rev. Gregory Davis conducting. Burial will be in the Chariton Cemetery.
