Jim Bell, 66 Years, Dies in Hospital at Alexandria, Aug. 28
Jim Bell, aged 66 years of Alexandria, died at the Baptist hospital Saturday,
August 28, 1937. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Sarah Bell; nine children,
eight sons and one daughter; Lawrence, Marion, Fred, Felix, Kelly, Loyd,
Kenneth, Jack of Alexandria; Mrs. V. J. Bell, Atlanta, La., and one sister,
Mrs. Clara Whipple of California; three grandchildren, Lawrence, Vernon and
Fay Louise Ray, and Margaret Joe Bell.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, August 29 at Montgomery, La.,
with Rev. Father Broussard officiating followed by interment in the family
cemetery.

Jim Bell, Father of Mrs. Vernon Ray Dies At Alexandria
Jim Bell, age 66 years, of Alexandria, father of Mrs. Vernon Ray of
Winnfield and brother of A. Bell Atlanta died at a hospital in
Alexandria Saturday afternoon at five o'clock. Funeral services were
held Sunday afternoon at two o'clock at Urica, near Montgomery with the
Rev. Father Broussard of Alexandria officiating followed by interment in
the family cemetery.
Pall bearers were the six oldest sons of the deceased, Lawrence,
Marion, Fred, Felix, Kelly and Loyd.
The deceased is survived by his wife, Mrs. Sarah Bell; nine
children, eight sons and one daughter, Lawrence, Marion, Fred, Felix,
Kelly, Loyd, Kenneth, Jack of Alexandria, Mrs. V. J. Ray of Winnfield;
one brother, A. Bell of Atlanta, La., and one sister, Mrs. Clara Whipple
of California; three grandchildren, Lawrence Vernon and Fay Louise Ray,
Margaret Joe Bell.
Mr. Bell was widely known in North Louisiana and at one time was
engaged in the mercantile business at Atlanta.
