Montgomery, La. Jan. 27, 1902 - Editor, Colfax Chronicle:

Mrs. A.W. Bell (nee Tipton) was born May 2, 1844 in Natchitoches Parish,
La. and died at the home of her daughter (not named) in Planchette, Point
Coupee Parish, where she had gone on a visit. She leaves a husband, seven
children and seven grandchildren (Not named).
She was a patient sufferer the few days she lived after she was taken
sick. She was converted many years ago, and joined the M.P. church, but like
many others, the many trials that comes to ones life often cause us to yield
to temptation, and in consequence, her Christian walk was not satisfactory,
but a few weeks before she left, she told the writer that she was living a
better life, than in the past. I rejoice to say that when she was taken sick,
she heartily repented her sins, and gave a clear and satisfactory testimony of
salvation, and asked her relatives to pray with her and to meet her in heaven.
