TRENTON, Jan. 22 - James F. Black, 79, of Trenton, died Wednesday morning in Martinez, Ga., following several months of declining health.
Mr. Black was a son of the late Henry S. and Martha Chapman Black. His wife, Mrs. Sallie Bush Black, died In 1952.
Surviving are 4 daughters, Mrs. Louise McLin of Ft. Mill, Mrs. Gertrude Hitch and Mrs. Sara Brown, both of Montgomery Ala., and Mrs. Alice Rae Smith of Trenton; 6 sons, J. Earl Black of Granlteville, James M. Black of Tuscaloosa, Ala., Gilbert Black of Huntsville. Ala., William W. Black of Portsmouth, Va., Francis B. and Thomas H. Black of Trenton; 3 brothers, B. F. Black of Batesburg, Ernest and Lemmie Black, both of Ward; 6 sisters, Mrs. James F. Cullum, Mrs. Ed Wright, Mrs. Alice Younce and Miss Elsie Black, all of Ward, Mrs. Roy Small of Heath Springs and Mrs. C. M. Banks of Blackstock; 11 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Johnston at 3:30 p.m. Thursday by the Rev. A. W. Howell and the Rev. Miles Cullum.
Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church Cemetery.
The body will be at Edgefield Mercantile Funeral Home until 2:30 p.m. Thursday when it will be placed in the church. The family respectfully requests that flowers be omitted.
