Mrs. Carrie Z. JOHNSTON, 85, died at 4:05 a.m. today at the Klapp nursing home in Argos after an illness of several years.

Born March 4, 1882 in Fulton county, she was the daughter of Peter and Louisa MILLER CASTLEMAN. She had resided all her married life in the Argos community. She was married Dec. 23, 1905 in Plymouth to Edwin Clelland JOHNSTON, who died May 6, 1961.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Everett (Dorothy) BATTA, Plymouth; a son, Conroy [JOHNSTON], San Diego, Cal.; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. George (Tina) ELLINGER, and Mrs. Clifford (Faye) WOOLDRIDGE, both of Culver. A son, Wilfred [JOHNSTON], preceded in death.

Last rites will p.m. Tuesday at the Grossman funeral home in Argos with the Rev. Samuel CALHOUN officiating. Burial will be in the Argos Maple Grove cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Sunday.
