Herbert A. Castleman, 77, 811 West Garro Street, Plymouth, passed away at the I.B.M. Nursing home at 6:45 a.m. Friday after a 1.5 years illness.

He was born in Maries County, MO on Oct. 17, 1885, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Castleman. Except for 30 years in Illinois, most of his life spent in Marshall County.

He was married to Charlotte Claypool, who passed away in 1942. On May 17, 1953, he was married to Opal Conrad, who survives. Mr. Castleman was a member of the Moose Lodge in Plymouth.

Surviving with the widow are four sisters: Mrs. Nellie Gurthet, Tyner, Mrs. Carrie Johnson, Plymouth, Mrs. George Ellinger, Plymouth, Mrs. Clifford Wooldridge, Culver.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. in the Johnson Funeral home with the Rev. G.M. Peters of Bourbon in charge. Burial will be in the Evergreen cemetery at Morris, Illinois.

Friends may call in the funeral home after 7 p.m. Saturday.
