James Michau, farmer of the Earls community near Andrews, died Wednesday morning, September 22, 1965, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. N. E. Green in Andrews. He had been in poor health for some time.
Mr. Michau, a son of the late Samuel Michau and the late Mrs. Mary Powell Michau, was born November 5, 1888, in the Suttons copmmunity of Williamsburg County. He spent nearly all of his life in the Earls community. He was a member of Spring Gully Baptist Church.
Mr. Michau was twice married. His first wife, Mrs. Annie Nile Wheeler Michau, died in 1926.
He was survived by his widow, Mrs. Alma Ernestine Swails Moore Michau of Andrews; three sons, Edward Michau and Hayward Michau, both of Kingstree, and Billy Ray Michau of the Marine Corps; a daughter, Mrs. Nathaniel Enoch (Ruby) Green Jr. of Andrews; a step-son, Waynie Moore of St. Stephen; four step-daughters, Mrs. Christobel Lambert of Georgetown, Mrs. Doris Wheeler of Andrews, Mrs. Mary Lee Morris of Marlin, Ark., and Mrs. Ernestine Hedgepath of Rock Hill; seven grandchildren; several step-grandchildren; a brother, Watson Michau of Andrews; a sister, Mrs. Lillie Graham of Charleston; and several nephews and nieces.
Burial, directed by Mayer Funeral Home was September 24, 1965, in Harmony Cemetery, Williamsburg County.
