Mr. Michau was born in Williamsburg County, a son of the late James Michau and Annie Nile Wheeler Michau.

He was a veteran of World War II.

He was survived by two sons, Gary Michau of Columbia and Mike Michau of Kingstree; a daughter, Mrs. Judy Walker of Fernandina Beach, Fla.; his stepmother, Mrs. Alma Ernestine Swails Moore Michau of Andrews; a brother, Edward Michau of Kingstree; a sister, Mrs. Ruby Leila M. Green of Andrews; a half-brother, Billy Ray Michau of Washington, DC; and three grandchildren.

Funeral services were Friday, August 25, 1978, in Williamsburg Funeral Home. Burial followed in Harmony Cemetery.
