Thomas Day's second wife was Aleatha "Letha" May Berry. Thomas and Letha were married on October 20, 1867, in Hawkins County, Tennessee, when he was 26 and she was 25. Letha was the daughter of Thomas Edward Berry, Sr., and his wife Sarah "Sarai" Everhart Berry. Letha, like Thomas, had been married once before. Her first husband was James Pouncy Bunch who had died in 1864. From this first marriage Letha had two sons--Thomas Bunch, born about 1859, and David Edward Bunch, born in 1861.

Thomas and Letha had at least 8 children--Henderson George Washington, 1868-1948 (buried in Klondike Cemetery as "H. G. Day"); Hanson, born in 1869-1917 (buried in Pleasant View Cemetery, Pickrell, Nebraska); Charles "Charlie," born in 1871; Rachel Ann Day Nelson, 1874-1931 (buried in Enid Cemetery, Enid, Oklahoma; Clinton Manuel, born in 1879; Melissa Catherine Day Johnson, 1881-1966 (buried in Pond Creek Cemetery, Pond Creek, Grant County, Oklahoma); William Isaac, 1884-1914 (buried in Pleasant View Cemetery, Pickrell, Nebraska); and Catherine, born in 1886.

During their marriage, Thomas and Letha and their children lived in Jefferson County, Tennessee; Clay County, Kentucky; Gage County, Nebraska; and Grant County, Oklahoma.

Thomas died on April 22, 1912 in Jefferson, Grant County, Oklahoma. He was buried in Klondike Cemetery. Letha lived 21 years longer than Thomas. She died on February 11, 1933, and was buried beside Thomas.

A volunteer photographer searched the entire cemetery in 2012 and could not find a gravestone for Aletha or her husband. However, a descendant has since posted a photo of the gravestone that she took several years ago. She reports that the gravestone has fallen forward onto the ground. Its face is no longer readable in that position.
