Ethel Emma Doughty (pronounced Dow-tee, NOT Doty), born May 30, 1884, Providence, Rhode Island, a child of Frank Nathan Doughty and Amanda Frances Smith; married Joseph L. Brockhouse, November 16, 1906 at Norwood, Massachusetts; children: John Wm.; Hildur Edna; Erma Foss. Ethel died, February 5, 1948.

Although Ethel's husband's name, Joseph Brockhouse, appears on her headstone, he's not buried here in Rhode Island. In their sunset years, Ethel and Joseph relocated to North Carolina where they lived close to Joseph's daughter, Hildur Blake. Ethel died 1948 in North Carolina several years before Joseph, her remains were returned to Rhode Island, and the family gravestone was engraved, presuming Joseph would be buried here with Ethel. Joseph also died in North Carolina, December 15, 1964 in Duke Hospital, Durham, North Carolina; however, Joseph's remains were not returned to Rhode Island, and were buried in the Blake plot, [Deed No. 2727] Woodlawn Memorial Park, Section 5, Block 9, Lot 79, Grave No. 4, Durham, North Carolina. Joseph Louis Brockhouse has Find a Grave Memorial No. 80850700.
