Loretta Schneider, 88, of Mason City, died Tuesday,Feb. 24, 2009 at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City, Iowa.
Loretta was born on May 19, 1920 in Greene, the daughter of Frank and Anna (Albrecht) DeMar. She received her education at the Greene Community School. On July 2, 1938, she married William W. Schneider in Mason. He preceded her in death in 1959 after a tragic airplane accident. After the death of her husband, Loretta devoted her life to raising and loving her children. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing and going out to eat. She was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Mason City.

A funeral Mass for Loretta will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 27, 2009, at the St. Joseph Catholic Church, 302 Fifth St. S.E., Mason City, with the Rev. Craig Steimel officiating. Burial will be in the St. Mary's Cemetery in Greene.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, her grandchildren; her brother, and a sister. Loretta was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William; two granddaughters, Tina Marie and Mary Sue Albright; and six brothers and sisters.
