Hugh Tucker was married to Jane Degolyer in 1854. They had three children of record: Rhoda, Charles, and Mary Catherine. Hugh was a private in the Indiana 39th Infantry Company G. He enlisted while living in Tipton County, Indiana. Hugh mustered in on 29 Aug 1861 and died on 23 Feb 1863 from wounds received at the Battle of Stones River. This battle had the largest number of casualties in the entire Civil War.
