The daughter Thomas & Jane (Gibson) Tucker of Ripley Co IN, Nancy married Martin James Clevenger on 29 Mar 1855 in Osgood, Ripley Co IN, the son of John & Mary Ann (Levi) Clevenger of Osgood, Ripley Co IN. They had 8 children, 5 sons and 3 daughters.

Ripley Co IN Marriage Records, Vol 6, p. 145:
"Martin [Clevenger] and Nancy Ann Tucker were married by Philip Anthony, Justice of the Peace in Ripley Co IN by virtue of a license issued the day before on 28 Mar 1855; a Civil wedding."

The Daily Republican, 14 Aug 1905, Pg 4:
"Mrs. Nancy Clevenger, mother of Ora, Mart and Ira Clevenger, died at noon Sunday at the home of her son, Ora, on East Seventh street, of old age and dropsy. Mrs. Clevenger was nearly ninety years old. Burial will occur Tuesday at Osgood."

Each Census shows a different age for Nancy. In 1860, Nancy's birth year calculates to 1838. In 1880 it is 1841. In 1900 it is 1835. When Nancy died in 1905, her age was listed as "about 90 years old", making her birth year 1815. Although the date 1835 had been used, based on the findings of Tucker historian R. Denardo, the 1850 Census record indicates it is 1832. This year lines up with the births of her siblings before and after her birth, so this will be the date used.
