Barbara Lee Cox McCorkle was born and reared in the Woodville Community of Chester County. She was daughter of the late Isaac Patrick and Martha Etta Hatch Cox. She went to school at Woodville. Barbara worked at Slant and Slant in Henderson and in 1941 was married to Burl McCorkle of Henderson. They lived in Henderson and then moved to Jacksonville, Florida where Mr. McCorkle was in the Armed Forces. Mr. McCorkle passed away in Florida and Mrs. McCorkle moved back to Henderson. She was a member Ladies American Legion Auxiliary and was Primitive Baptist in belief. She loved to sew and crochet and have a flower garden. Mrs. McCorkle is survived by three sisters Helen Ivy of Somerville, TN and Zenola Hooper and Lila Rush both of Henderson, TN, two grandchildren Michael McCorkle and Nicole Gilley, one great grandchild.
