Daughter of Isaac Patrick Cox & Martha Etta (Hatch) Cox.

She was born and reared in the Woodville Community of Chester County, the daughter of the late Isaac Patrick and Martha Etta Hatch Cox. She attended schools at Woodville. She was married to Charlie Hooper and they made their home in the Hooper’s Switch Community of Hardeman County where they farmed. Mr. Hooper died in 1939. She moved to Woodville in Chester County and later moved to Henderson and worked at Salant & Salant Mfg. until retirement. She had kept her own home until May of this year. She loved to quilt and crochet. She was Primitive Baptist.

She is survived by two daughters Delene Ledbetter of Henderson, Billye Mollyhorn of Milan; ten grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and eighteen great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Lila Rush of Henderson and Helen Ivy of Somerville, TN.

She was preceded in death by a son, Charlie P. Hooper (1996); a daughter Charlotte Patricia Hooper (1939); one grand daughter, Linda Weeks Gray (2001) and also three brothers and six sisters.
