Mrs. Rush was born and reared in the Woodville Community of Chester County, the daughter of the late Issac Patrick and Martha Etta Hatch Cox. She attended school at Woodville and Masseyville and in 1933 married Ross A. Rush and they made their home at Silerton where Mr. Rush logged. They lived in several places in the Mid-South while Mr. Rush did construction work and road building. They moved to Henderson in 1955. Mr. Rush preceded in death in 1974.
Mrs. Rush made her home on North Avenue for over thirty years. She was very creative and enjoyed doing oil and water paintings, gardening, and seamstress work. She was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and had severed as state president and was very active in the Girls State Program.
She enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren, who brought her much joy.
She is survived by four daughters; Janice Kent and husband Larry of Henderson, Barbara Rush Vandiver and husband Brad of Jackson, Sherry Tignor and husband Barry of Jackson and Kim Rush and husband Tony of Henderson. She has five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Mrs. Rush's extended family who where very dear to her are Aubrey and Barbara Wilson of Germantown.
