Albert Elias Casias was my brother (Researched, written and photos provided by Vernon P. Casias) the son of Beatrice Casias born August 24, 1895 and Pete Casias born January 04, 1890. Albert was kind hearted and would go out of his way to help others. He served his country by joining the C.C.C. (Civilian Conservation Corps) at age nineteen. He served from October 14, 1938 to March 31, 1939 with Co. 1819, Camp F-64-C Woodland Park, Colorado. Then from October 4, 1939 to March 31, 1940 with Camp NP-5-C Mesa Verde, Colorado. Honorably discharged. He also worked for several years during WWII laying railroad tracks along the California coast line. Albert's primary occupation was hard rock miner and he worked for many years in Butte, Montana and other mines. Because of his work experience he was hired to help construct the NORAD underground complex under Cheyenne mountain in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Albert liked to travel, hunt, fish, made friends easily and was well liked. He married and divorced later in life. He had one daughter, Alberta, whom he loved dearly.
