Pofiria Maria Arellano, 96, housewife and lifelong resident of the Del Norte area, died last Wednesday. She was born June 21, 1891 in Cerro, New Mexico, the daughter of Jose I and Maria De La Luz Martinez, Cortez. She was married to Ysidoro Arellano who preceded her in death.
She was a member of the Catholic Church; the Altar Society; San Antonio De Pudula, AMB Society; and SPF Society.
She is survived by four sons, Celso and Celedonio Arellano, Ogden, Utah; Tony Arellano, Wallace, Idaho; and Joe Arellano, Fairfield, Montana; six daughters, Elsie Rivera and Valentina Valdez, Del Norte; Josephine Martinez, Colorado Springs; Cordy Montoya, Monte Vista; Ursula Vigil, La Garita; and Carmen Hafley, Indianapolis; 55 grandchildren, 101 great-grandchildren; and 21 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday at Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church with burial in the Del Norte cemetery. Rosary was recited on Saturday and Sunday.
