MARION - Willis Lide (Bruce) Brown, 80, died at 4 p.m. Tuesday at a local hospital after a long illness.
Funeral services will take place at 4 p.m. Thursday from the Bullard Funeral Home, with the Rev. Neville G. Lambert officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery.
Born May 29, 1884 in Marion County, Mr. Brown was a son of the late Asbury B. and Elizabeth Odom Brown. He had lived most of his life in the Little Bethel community, but for the past several years had made his home in Marion. He was a retired farmer, a member of the Rains Grange and of Little Bethel Baptist Church.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Daisy B. Brown; three sons, Bruce, Austin and Edwin Brown, all of Marion; a sister, Mrs. C. F. Curry of Mullins; and 8 grandchildren.
