G. Maxine Adkins, 78, passed away Thursday, November 03, 2011, at Miller’s Merry Manor, Hartford City.

She was born May 21, 1933 to George Melvin and Nellie (Jordan) Hall in Carter County, Kentucky and lived in Hartford City most of her life. Maxine married George W. Adkins, Sr. on May 16, 1950 in Carter County, Kentucky. His death occurred November 11, 2009.

Maxine was a member of the Apostolic Tabernacle, Hartford City. A homemaker, she had also worked at Sinclair Glass.

Survivors include: three daughters, Kathie (Steve) Reese, Greenfield ; Geral (Larry) Berry, and Janet (Jim) Lytle, both of Hartford City; two sons, George W. (Julie) Adkins, Jr., Dunkirk and John E. (Michelle) Adkins, Middletown, Florida; two brothers, Lloyd Kenneth (Diane) Hall, Montpelier and George Franklin (Betty) Hall, Trenton; 18 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

Maxine was preceded in death by four brothers, John M. Hall, Ralph Hall, Charles Hall and George Melvin Hall and four sisters, Anna Hess, Beulah Litteral, Geraldine Hess and Norma Allen.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 8 in Waters Funeral Home, 501 W. Washington St., Hartford City. Burial will follow in Hartford City Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Monday and one hour prior to services on Tuesday.
