Lettie Mae Roberts

Mrs. Lettie Mae Mize Roberts, 93, of 6381 Elberton Hwy., Tignall, died Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2011, at Cobb Memorial Hospital.

Born on May 20, 1918, in Hart County, she was the daughter of the late Otho C. Mize and Quillie Winn Mize. She was the retired co-owner of AG Grocery of Bowman and Roberts ABC Store in Washington, and retired from Sky City of Washington. She was also a member of Holly Springs Baptist Church and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Gideon's International.

Survivors include two sons, Daniel Vance Roberts, Jr. and his wife, Jeanne of Lookout Mountain, and Samuel Pope Roberts and his wife, Denise of Tignall; three brothers, Alvin Mize of Bowman, Arnold Mize of Royston, and Jep Mize of Royston; one sister, Lois Mize of Bowman; five grandchildren, Lauren Roberts, Lucas Roberts, Layla Roberts, Ross Roberts, and Michelle Hise; and two great-grandchildren, Leah Sage Chambers and Lane Roberts. Mrs. Roberts was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Daniel Vance Roberts; seven brothers, Ernest, Lee, Warren, Wilburn, Jule, James, and Nelson Mize; and two sisters, Alice Todd and Dora Whitmire.

Memorial services were at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 28, in the Holly Springs Baptist Church. Strickland Funeral Home - Hartwell was in charge of all arrangements.
