Miss Lois R. Mize, 91, of Herndon Circle, Bowman, passed away Thursday, October 5, 2023 at Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital.



Born on August 12, 1932 in Royston GA, she was the daughter of the late Otho C. Mize and Quillie Winn Mize. Miss Lois was retried form the Georgia Department of Human Resources and took care of her parents for many years before their deaths. She was also a life-long member of Holly Springs Baptist Church, where she enjoyed teaching Bible Sword Drill, Children's SS and working with the youth.



Miss Lois is survived by several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; ten brothers: Ernest Mize, Lee Mize, Warren Mize, Wilburn Mize, Jule Mize, James Mize, Jep Mize, Nelson Mize, Arnold Mize and Alvin Mize and three sisters: Lettie Roberts, Alice Todd and Dora Whitmire.



The family will receive friends Saturday, October 7, 2023 from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the Holly Springs Baptist Church. The family will also receive friends after the church service. Other times the family will be at their respective homes.



Funeral services for Miss Lois Mize will be Saturday, October 7, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at the Holly Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Petty and Rev. Scott Mize officiating. Burial will be in the Vanna United Methodist Church Cemetery.



Flowers are optional, and memorials may be made to the Holly Springs Baptist Church, 3308 Pulliam Mill Rd, Bowman, GA 30624.



The Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell is in charge of all arrangements.
