Born September 10, 1893, near Jerome, he was the son of Frank and Sarah Close Dooley. He was married to Edith Viola Hughes in Ottumwa in 1913, and she preceded him in death October 7, 1969. He was also preceded in death by his parents and four brothers.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. John (Mildred) Cathcart, Jerome; two granddaughters; a brother, Grover Dooley of White Fish, Mont.; and two sisters, Mrs. Marie Olsen, Ottumwa; and Mrs. Mamie Lawton of Peoria. Ill.
Mr. Dooley was a retired coal operator, heading the D. and C. Coal Co.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, 1:30 p.m., at the Johnson Funeral Home, with John Lewis officiating. Burial will be in Jerome Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home Tuesday from 7 to 8 p.m.
