Ellen C. Moore age 83, passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2005, surrounded by her family at the family farm near Mountain, ND. Funeral service will be held on Friday, March 11, 2005, at 10:00 a.m. at the Jensen-Askew Funeral Home, Cavalier, ND. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 10th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service at the Jensen-Askew Funeral Home, Cavalier, ND. Visitation for one hour before the time of services. Burial in the Mountain Cemetery at a later date. Ellen C. Byron was born March 18, 1921, to Sigurdur and Helga (Hannesson) Byron at Mountain, ND. She attended school at Mountain, and was a baptized and confirmed member of the Vikur Lutheran Church of Mountain. On October 21, 1939, she was united in marriage to Stewart J. Moore at Grand Forks, ND. They lived in the Loma area and moved to Hallson in 1950, then in 1951, to the present farm near Mountain. Stewart passed away October 5, 1989. Ella operated Moore's Lunch Counter at the Mountain Legion dances from 1952 to 1972. From 1969 to 1971, she cooked at the Mountain Elementary School. Then from 1972 to 2002, she worked as a night nurses aide at the Borg Memorial Home of Mountain. Ella loved to bake and baked doughnuts, buns, and vinarterta for her family and several people in the community for many years. She is survived by sons, Stewart A. (Lois) Moore, Grand Forks, ND., Alfred (Teresa) Moore, Drayton, ND., Thomas (Rose) Moore and Timothy (Sylvia) Moore all of Mountain, ND.; daughters, Judith (Nils) Vigen, Adams, ND., Dorothy (Allen) Robinson, Hamilton, ND., Susan (Dale) Clark, Langdon, ND., 20 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, brothers, Alfred (Alice) Byron, Cavalier, ND., Louie (Eileen) Byron, Glendive, MT., Oscar (Shirley) Byron, Edinburg, ND., sisters, Marlene (Emil) Johnson, Cavalier, ND., Marie Simundson, Park River, ND., brother-in-law, Ivan Gudjonson, Walhalla, ND., and several nieces and nephews. Ella was also preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Martha Johnson, brothers, Ben and Sam Byron, and sisters, Kristine Hannesson, Gunna Johnson, Helga Halldorson, and Steinun Berg. Honorary Pallbearers are all of Ella's Grandchildren and Great grandchildren. Casket Bearers: Cory Clark, Dany Moore, Jon Moore, Tim Moore, Tom Moore, and Shane Robinson
