Helga M. Halldorson, 65, Mountain, ND died Saturday, Jan. 6, 2001, at home.
Helga Maria Byron was born June 13, 1935, the daughter of Sig and Helga (Hannesson) Byron, in Mountain, where she attended school. She married Thomas Halldorson on Dec. 19, 1953, in Hallock, MN. They lived in Mountain. In 1967, the moved to Seattle, and in 1976, they returned to Mountain. She operated the Mountain Cafe, was cook at the Edinburg Public School (ND), Osnabrock Good Samaritan Center (ND) and Borg Memorial Home in Mountain. Thomas Halldorson died Sept. 5, 1997.
She is survived by sons: Gene (Pat), Madison, MN; Marvin and Kevin, both of Grand Forks, ND; Fred (Tracy) and Marino (Margaret), both of Gold Bar, WA; and Jason (Connie), Mountain, ND; daughters: Junell (Donald) Jonasson, Milton, ND; Jolene (Dave) Halldorson, Gold Bar, WA; and Jeanette (Mike) Gratton, Bowbells, ND; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sisters: Ella Moore, Mountain, ND; Steinun Berg, Park River, ND; Marlene (Emil) Johnson and Marie Simundson, both of Cavalier, ND; and brothers, Alfred (Alice), Cavalier, ND; Louie (Eileen), Glendive, MT; and Oscar (Shirley), Edinburg, ND.
She was preceded in death by sons, Wayne and Jarod; daughter, Tammy Halldorson; daughter-in-law, Carol Halldorson; a grandson; her parents; brothers, Ben and Sam; and sisters, Gunna Johnson and Kristine Hannesson.
Funeral Services: Thursday, January 11, 2001, in Vikur Lutheran Church, Mountain, ND.
Burial: in the Mountain Cemetery, Mountain, ND.
