Joyce graduated Cum Laude in accounting from the University of Missouri at St. Louis in 1986, and later received her CPA certificate in 1988. She went to work for the federal government as a DCAA auditor in St. Louis. In 1989 she transfered to DCAA at Lockheed-Martin to be closer to family. She retired in May 2007 after 20 years of government service.
Some of her passions include going to the movies, reading, world history, and democratic politics. Joyce was a strong supporter for women and minority rights, as well as equal opportunities for anyone who was less fortunate or a victim of prejudice. She always rooted for the underdog, unless they were playing the Cowboys. Joyce also enjoyed visiting and dining out with her family and numerous friends.
Joyce passed away October 29, 2009 in Ft Worth, TX at the age of 64 years old.
