Kay (McCrary) Smoot, 51 of Huntsville, Ala., died Friday, Jan. 14, 1994.
She was born Feb. 21, 1942 in Portales, NM to Damon and R. H. "Red" McCrary. She attended Portales Schools until the family moved to Alamogordo NM in 1955.
Mrs. Smoot graduated from Alamogordo High School and in June of 1961 married Edward B. Smoot Jr.
She was a graduate of the University of Alabama in Huntsville and Florida Institute of Technology.
Mrs. Smoot had been the manager of Financial Systems at Integraph Inc.since 1981. She was member of the Abundant Life Church.
She was preceded in death by her father in June of 1975.
Survivors include her husband Edward of the home; one daughter and son-in-law Kelly and Grady Gaston of Harvest, Ala.; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Brian Smoot of New York City, and Craig and Leslie Smoot of Huntsville, Ala; her mother Damon McCrary of Portales, NM; one brother and sister-in-law Keith and Sue McCrary of San Antonio, Texas.
Other survivors include three sisters and one brother-in-law; Wanda and Marty Martinez of Portales; Nancy Pool and Joyce Skaggs both of Ft. Worth, Texas; and two grandchildren Ryan and Michael of Harvest, Ala.
