following which burial took place in
Glenwood cemetery.
Mr. Blackwell had been in poor health
for the past year, and after becoming
seriously ill, was removed to the Shelby
County Memorial Hospital.
He was born May 16, 1892, in Lawrence ,
County, the son of Ellsworth and Rachel
Blackwell. On February 29,1912 he was
united in marriage to May Brim of Mitchell,
Indiana. The widow and four children and
other relatives survive.
Mr. Blackwell was manager of the Bryan
Store in Mitchell for many years and in
1929 the family moved to Paxton, Illinois.
From Paxton, he was transferred to Shelbyville
in 1932. He resigned his position of manager
of the Ben Franklin Store in 1942 due to poor
health.
