Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the Snell-Smith funeral home, where friends may call after 11 a.m. Sunday. Burial will be in DeWitt Elmwood cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Robert Honeywell, William Twyford, Charles Kennedy, Louis Miller, John Hinrichson and Edwin Johnson.
Mr. Roup was born Aug. 17, 1892 in Arapahoe, Neb., the son of William F. and Mary Potter Roup. He married Emma Hansen of Clinton, Sept. 29, 1920. The couple lived in the DeWitt area prior to the past 20 years, which have been spent in Clinton.
A retired crane operator for the North Western railroad, Mr. Roup was a veteran of World War I and a member of the June Van Meter American Legion post, Camanche VFW and Gateway Barracks of World War I Veterans.
Surviving are his wife, one daughter Mrs. Charles (Doris) Schlotfeldt of DeWitt; two sons Oliver of Clinton and William of Henderson, Nev.; eight grandchildren; one great grandchild; one brother, Lester of Low Moor; and two sisters, Mrs. Belle Adams of Webster City and Mrs. Viola Wilsey of Wall, S.D.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
