Born May 3, 1890, in Nebraska, he was married to Ida C. Schroeder Oct. 12, 1911, at Clinton. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way.
Surviving are a granddaughter and three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Viola Wilsey of Wall, S.D., and Bell Adams of Webster City, and two brothers, Lester Roup of Low Moor, and Guy Roup of Clinton.
Memorial services: Turner chapel east at 12 noon Tuesday by the Rev. Alvin C Hornbostel. Burial: Cedar Memorial cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel.
