Raymond S. "Bud" Wiggerly, 70, died Friday at his home after a lengthy illness.
Mr. Wiggerly was born in Yorktown, attended Yorktown and Royerton schools, and lived in Muncie most of his life. He worked for Lawrence Snyder and Oren Kirklin, then owned and operated Wiggerly Construction Co. from 1960 until retiring this past year.
He received his 50-year member pin last years from Local 1016 United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America, and he was a member of Phi Delta Kappa national fraternity. He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in the Aleutian Islands, Alaska.
Survivors include his wife, Patty Miley Wiggerly; a daughter and son-in-law, Kip and Andrew Corn, Muncie; a son and daughter-in-law, Kerry A. and Deborah Wiggerly, Muncie; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Helen and Robert Phillips, and Betty and Philip Pierce, all of Muncie, and Hazel Cook, Alloway, N.J.; seven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A brother, Robert Wiggerly, was killed in Italy during World War II, and a sister, Virginia Hendee, died in 1992.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Parson Mortuary-Adams Chapel. Burial will be in Elm Ridge Cemetery. Calling will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the mortuary.
