Services for Virginia D. Hendee, 72, 1712 E. Cornell Ave., will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Elm Ridge Mausoleum Chapel. Entombment will be in Elm Ridge Mausoleum. Calling is an hour before services Tuesday in the mausoleum chapel.
Mrs. Hendee died Friday at her home after a brief illness. She was born in Yorktown and attended Yorktown and Muncie schools. She formerly was employed by Waco Restaurant and Lounge for several years.
Surviving are her husband of 56 years, James H. "Red" Hendee; a son, James "Pete" Hendee, Muncie; three sisters, Mrs. Robert (Helen) Phillips and Mrs. Phillip (Betty) Pierce, both of Muncie, and Mrs. Herman (Hazel) Cook, Alloway, N.J.; a brother, Raymond Wiggerly, Muncie; her stepmother, Frances Wiggerly, Muncie; two grandchildren, Kevin Hendee, Muncie, and Sheri Law, Selma; a great-grandson, Ryan Law; an aunt, Lula Lykins, Yorktown; an uncle, William Wiggerly, Daleville; and several nieces and nephews.
A brother, Robert Wiggerly, died in World War II.
Waters Funeral Home, Hartford City, is in charge of arrangements.
