Samuel Moses Tucker was born 28 Mar 1818 Sumter, South Carolina to John Tucker and Susanna Mitchum of South Carolina. In 1847 he moved to Alabama. There he Married Nicey Rebecca Dewitt his second wife in Feb 1855 in Montgomery Alabama. She was born 12 Sept 1838 in Wilcox Alabama to James Dewitt and Micy R Rhodes. They had 12 children: France Elizabeth “Fannie”, John James, Henry Birch, Eugenia Christienia, Benjamin Franklin, Melissa, Alice, B, Hattie Morselette, Sophronia, Nevada, and Pinki Rebecca and Herbert. They lived in Alabama until 1857 then the family moved to Jasper Mississippi where they remained until Samuels death. He Joined the Methodist Episcopal Church and was a member for 3 years but was treated in an unchristian like manner by one of the leading members of the church and declined to have anything to do with the church or that Member. Samuel died 9 Oct 1883 in Paudling Mississippi. Buried in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Jasper Mississippi. Nicey Rebecca Dewitt and her children moved to Utah where she died 12 Nov 1932 in Ogden Utah in the Ogden City Cemetery.
