James Allen "Jim" Spreer, 57, of Perry, died Thursday, October 27, 2011 at Midland Hospice in Topeka. He was born April 11, 1954 at Belleville, the son of Alfred H.P. and Alice Marie Rahe Spreer. He had lived most of his life in the Perry area. He worked as a fork lift operator at Payless distribution center in Topeka from 1983 to 2004. He then worked for Bigham Farms in Grantville. He was a 1973 graduate of Perry-Lecompton High School and was a member of the Grantville United Methodist Church. He was married to Sharon Kay Barngrover on June 28, 1980 at Topeka, she survives at the home. He is also survived by one son Eric (Jennifer) Spreer, Perry, one daughter, Laycee Spreer, Perry, two Brothers, Stanley Spreer, Lawrence, Kenney Spreer, Grantville, two sisters, Beverly Wright, Perry, Doris Rusche, Seneca, and two granddaughters. He was preceded in death by an infant son, Justin Spreer, and two brothers, Dennis and Gary Spreer. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 AM, Wednesday at the Grantville United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Grantville Cemetery.
