Gary Wayne Spreer, 60, of Perry, died Saturday, September 11, 2010 at he is home in rural Perry. He was born December 20, 1949 at Belleville, the son of Alfred H. P. and Alice Marie Rahe Spreer. Living in Perry most of his life, he was a 1967 graduate of Perry Rural High School. Gary worked for Hamm's Construction Co. in Perry before entering the Military. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of Viet Nam, serving from 1969 to 1971. He is a member of the Perry American Legion Post #142. He worked for 30 years as the Human Resource Manager at K-Mart Distribution Center in Lawrence. He most recently served as a substitute Rural Mail Carrier in Lawrence for eight years until his illness disabled him. He was a member of the Lawrence area Chamber of Commerce. He was married to Cinda "Cindy" S. Jones on July 13, 1973 at Miami, OK., she survives at home. He is also survived by two sons, Jason (Sarah) Spreer, Perry, Kevin (Meaghan Kinley), Lawrence, three brothers, Stanley Spreer, Perry, Jim Spreer, Perry, Kenney Spreer, Grantville, two sisters, Beverly Wright, Perry, Doris Rusche, Seneca, and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Dennis Spreer. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 AM, Thursday at Perry American Legion building in Perry. Burial with Legion Honors will be at Oak Ridge Cemetery, Perry.
