BURIAL OF MARION SHUTT IS MADE AT CEDAR CHAPEL

The funeral of the late Marion S. Shutt of one and a half miles southeast of Garrett was held at the Wm. Dosch residence south of Auburn Sunday afternoon. The Rev. Joseph Ferguson of east of Auburn officiated and burial was made in Cedar Chapel cemetery.

Mr. Shutt lived alone and operated his farm. A grandson, Marion James Tarlton of south of Garrett, visited him last Tuesday evening and he seemed to be in his usual health. The next morning Wayne Potter of Huntertown, a milk trucker who called, found him slumped in a chair, having suffered a stroke of paralysis. He was removed to the Dosch home and died Thursday at 4:05 p. m. Mrs. Dosch formerly was his daughter-in-law.

The body was taken to the Dilgard & Cline funeral home in Auburn and was returned to the Dosch residence Friday.

Mr. Shutt was 78 years old and was born east of Spencerville. He and Lydia Carnahan were married in 1891 and she died in 1916. A son and two daughters also are dead.

Survivors are nine grandchildren, Theo Freeman of Coldwater, Mich., Miss Novella Tarlton, who lives in the Joseph Lemish home southwest of Garrett, Lyle Tarlton of 313 High street, Garrett, Samuel Tarlton, Mrs. Cleo Campbell, Donald Shutt and Mrs. Warren Johns of Auburn, Mrs. Francis Craig of White Cloud, Mich., and Marion James Tarlton; 17 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Clarence Kesler of Waukesha, Wis., and one brother, Elmer Shutt, who address is unknown.
