John Marion Stephenson (son of Reuben W. Stephenson and Elizabeth Givens Bowen) was born January 3, 1861 in Lewis County, Missouri and died January 11, 1947. He first married Nettie Allen Blackburn on November 22, 1888. He was a farmer, fruit grower, and stock raiser. They farmed near Ewing, Lewis County, Missouri. He was a faithful member of the Ten Mile Baptist Church and served as a deacon there for over thirty years. He was also active in the local grange. Nettie died in 1907 and he married Cornelia Kerfoot Gamm, widow of Edward Gamm, on November 17, 1917.
