Wade Rollins

The owner and operator of Rollins Wrecker Service, Wade L. "Bus" Rollins, 67, of Leon, died Saturday, May 15, 1993, at Holzer Medical Center in Gallipolis, Ohio.

Born July 6, 1925 in Leon, Rollins was a son of the late Harvey "Harve" M. and Screna E. "Lizzy" (McDade) Rollins. He was also preceded in death by five brothers, three sisters and a grandson.

Rollins owned and operated the wrecker service for 25 years. He was a 40 year member of the Carpenters Local 1159; a U.S. Army veteran of World War II; a member of the Pleasant Valley Community Church; a member of the 32 Scottish Rites, Parkersburg; Minturn Lodge No. 19, A.F.& A.M.; Jackson Chapter No. 48 R.A.M.; the Dowell Commandry No. 28 Knights Templar; and the Nemesis Temple of Parkersburg.

A Kentucky Colonel, Rollins was the 1992 Mason County Democrat of the Year and a member of the Mason County Democrat Executive Committee. He was a member of the Mason County Sheriff's Auxiliary Department, honorary member of the Point Pleasant Fire Department; the Pat Wilson Shrine Club and the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge No. 102.

Rollins was also a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, Lodge No. 33; the American Legion, Mason County Post No. 23 and received the Mountaineer Hillbilly Degree.

He is survived by his wife, Mary (McCarty) Rollins; two daughters, Nancy Holland of Leon and Connie Roese of Point Pleasant; four sons, Paul E., Terry and Stephen, all of Point Pleasant and Wade R. of Leon; three brothers, Jesse M. and Delbert L., both of Leon and Epa of Point Pleasant; five sisters, Gladys I. Hart, Hazel T. Mattox and Virginia L. Thomas, all of Leon, Josephine Fooce of Letart and Janice Jenkins of Indiana; 11 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

Service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 18, at the Crow-Hussell Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, with Rev. Herman H. Jordan and Rev. George Hoschar officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Cemetery at Flatrock, where graveside rites will be conducted by the American Legion, Mason County Post No. 23 and the Minturn Lodge No. 19, A.F.& A.M.

Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home today (Monday) from 6-9 p.m.
