Born Feb. 27, 1909, in Waterfall, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Meade and Pearl Cutchall Black.
Her husband, Glenn Strait, died March 13, 1990.
She worked as a cook at several area restaurants.
She was a member of Hustontown United Methodist Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Mae Chilcote and Jane Carmack, both of Hustontown; one son, Perry Strait of Hustontown; one sister, Dorothy Clevenger of McConnellsburg; 21 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Louise Hoffman; four sons, Paul, Robert, Carl and Guy; one sister; four brothers; and two great-grandsons.
Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at M.R. Brown Funeral Home, Hustontown. Pastor Brian Sweeney will officiate. Burial will be in Hustontown Cemetery.
Visitation will be today from 5 to 9 p.m. and one hour prior to the services on Tuesday.
